Let's be honest, if you are named Ziti's Italian Trattoria, then the ziti better be real good. Ziti's offers customers a mix of Northern and Southern Italian dishes. If it ends in "a", they are serving it: marsala, picatta, parmigiana, puttanesca, carbonara, arrabiata, alla mattraciana, gnocchi sorrentina, pizzaiola. You get the point.

Conveniently located at the bottom of the hill that leads up to Kohr Golf, I assume Ziti's cashes in on alcohol sales from the mid-40s hackers who saddle up to the bar after a bucket of balls at the range. I assume because I wouldn't know, I'm too busy playing real sports.

Back to the restaurant ... the place is generally a good time. Decent dishes, decent prices, decent atmosphere. Perfect for Thursday night. Because let's face it, the weekend starts on Thursday, and no one cooks anymore.

Ziti's has been around for nearly 30 years. Who knew? You know, other than the owners.

I've been a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Situated on land that was the old golf course on Speen, Ziti's has the unfortunate circumstance of never allowing a patron to turn left out of the parking lot due to the mind-numbing amount of constant traffic. You're almost better off just taking a right during rush hour.

Moving along.

They offer catering for birthday parties, wedding showers, corporate events, graduations, and any other event you can think of. Based on their online menu, the catering prices seem rather reasonable.

What to order: Shrimp Fra Diavolo

To be clear, I have never ordered the Fra Diavolo from Ziti's. The internet has though, and it advocates highly for the choice.

Garlic bread (cheese optional). Fried calamari and ravioli. Mozzarella sticks. Bruschetta. Mussels. Antipasto.

Final thoughts on

If you are burned out on Agostino's, or you live in the Sherwood neighborhood, give it a shot. The only thing disappointing about Ziti's Italian Trattoria is the left out of the driveway onto Speen.
